Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 5th June 2022

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Event
We had a very successful South Hanningfield event to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Sunday, 5th June 2022 on the village tye and in the hall.
Chelmsford City Mayor, Cllr John Galley attended who opened the event and was accompanied by the Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Consort.
Thank you to all the entertainers and stallholders who provided a programme from 12 noon including a brass band, choirs, Punch & Judy, craft and other stalls and food/drinks stalls.
There was Free Entry thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund as the committee have been successful with our application for funding towards this event and the bench which was officially unveiled by the Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Consort. 
Thank you to Hawes & Church for the loan of the letting boards which have been circulated around the village to promote the event.
Thank you to South Hanningfield Parish Council for loaning us the Tye to put on the event.
Thank you to Essex & Suffolk Water for the loan of the car park by the play area.

We had lots going on in the village hall too.  Thank you to the Coffee Morning group who did a great job with the cream teas; Nita and the historical photographs were well received as well as the ‘The Hug in a Shrug’ crocheting Jubilee exhibition and
St Peter’s Primary School who did a display of Jubilee drawings.
Thank you so much to our volunteers who are helping set up, on the day and after the event.   We have a new representative from South Hanningfield Parish Council on our hall committee, Cllr Richard Cerson who helped us during the day and drew the raffle.  Thank you to St Peter’s Church for the loan of their tables and chairs for the event.  We are also grateful to the Rettendon residents who loaned us their gazebo, bunting and balloons they had at their Jubilee Beacon Lighting event the previous Thursday.
 
We had two fantastic volunteer photographers, Jenni who accompanied the Mayor and party around the event and Alex who took photos a bit later in the day.  Our grateful thanks to Jenni - jennisullivanphotographer.com and Alex - alexandra-marie.co.uk for their support. 
We managed to raise the amount we needed from this event a fantastic £1984.97 which will go towards a defibrillator for the village hall.  Thank you to all who contributed, and we even received a £500 cheque from one of our Parish Councillors, Cllr Roy Whitehead.
