Our Cub Pack
Who We Are
Cub Scouts collectively form a 'Pack' - just as Beavers form a 'Colony', Scouts a 'Troop' and Explorer Scouts a 'Unit'. They are normally aged between eight and ten and a half years old. We automatically phase them into the Troop.
We normally have 24 - 36 Cub Scouts who are supervised by Leaders and Young Leaders. The Cubs are organised into 'sixes'.
Our Cub Scouts can be recognised by their green sweatshirt, dark red necker and long, dark blue activity trousers.
What We Do
There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.
Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.

Our Badges
As a Cub Scout, you can earn
- Core Badges
- Challenge Awards
- Activity Badges
- Staged-Activity Badges - as you become more proficient / experienced in these activities, the award is progressively upgraded
- the Chief Scout's Silver Award - the highest award
These are in addition to
- District, County badges and Group nametape which are awarded when you are invested into the Pack
As a Pack we encourage everyone to gain the Chief Scout's Silver Award

As a member of the Scout Movement, when you join the Cub Scouts, you make the Cub Scout Promise :

I promise that I will do my best
to do my duty to the King,
to help other people
and to keep the Cub Scout Law.
Scouts is open to people of all faiths and of none. That’s why we have different variations of our Promise, so that everyone’s included and can say a set of words that means something to them.
We all regularly renew this promise, especially when new members join and at the annual District St. George's Day service.
