Climate Action
We held our first climate action meeting in Twickenham on 10th September 2019. Here are the notes from the various groups:
We had been planning to hold further meetings in 2020 but Covid got in the way! Maybe in 2021?!
We are monitoring the Council's Climate Emergency Strategy and Action Plan. The latest update was published in February 2021 and is available here
We are pleased that London Borough of Richmond has a Strategy and Action Plan and support many of the actions in it whilst being concerned about progress on some areas, including reducing CO2 emissions from residential properties which make up almost 50% of CO2 emissions from the Borough, switching the Council's pension fund to greener investments and slow progress reducing food waste.
We have also campaigned for many years against expansion of Heathrow Airport. Our response to the latest consultation can be found here with a further note on freight written by one of our members who works in the field here
