Coach Trip: Visit to Chelsea Physic Garden

Wednesday 05 May 2010
10:00 to 17:30

If you read Terry’s article in the last newsletter or heard the talk at our meeting earlier in the year, you will be aware of how interesting the Chelsea Physic Garden is.

It was founded in 1673 by the society of Apothecaries to grow plants for medicinal use and was situated in Chelsea on the river for easy transportation and a mild micro-climate for non-native plants. It is not a huge garden so there should be time to visit some of the other attractions in a pleasant part of Chelsea.

Next door is the National Army Museum (free) and close by is Carlyle’s house (National Trust). The King’s Road and Sloane Square are a short walk away.

We will provide a map and a list of attractions to help you on the day. Please get in touch if you are interested.
