MNTV Workday - Joint Workday - Chirk Castle

Sunday 12 June 2022
10:00 to 15:30

Today we are joining forces with our friends from Merseyside on one of their main properties, Chirk Castle.

Chirk Castle was constructed by Roger Mortimer de Chirk in the late 13th Century, under the instruction from Edward I as part of the King’s chain of fortresses surrounding North Wales. In 1595 the Welsh Fortress was turned into an elegant family home, the lavishly furnished rooms reflect 400 years of changing taste. You can also wonder amongst the scents and seasonal colours of the rare shrubs and flowers of the 5.5acre garden or take a walk around one of the many trails in the 480 acre parkland full of ancient trees, wildflowers, birds and bugs. For those who want to read more about this fascinating castle please go to https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/chirk-castle

Meet either at Styal for a car share at 8.45am or meet in the Main car park at Chirk at 10.00am
