Minutes of Meeting, Tuesday 7th January 2020
The Parish Council met on Tuesday, 7th January at 7.30 pm in the Evangelical Church Hall.
Chairman: Councillor R. Siddall
Vice-Chairman: Councillor N. Lawrence
Councillors: V. Hare, S. Venton Also in attendance 5 parishioners
533. Apologies for Absence J. Hughes, The Clerk, A. Cater-Hughes and P. Cornell did not attend.
534. To invite Councillors to declare an interest in matters on the Agenda. No interests were declared.
535. Minutes 3/12/2019
RESOLVED that the Minutes of the Parish Council held on the 3rd December 2019 be approved and confirmed.
535. a) Planning decisions received from Maldon District Council
None were received
b) Latest planning applications
19/01256/FUL. Change of use of agricultural land to form part of the residential garden. The Parish Council
536. Bridge onto Common update
RESOLVED No further action to be taken.
537. Village open spaces – work conducted by MDC, Community payback team
The community payback team have done a good job. The area by the swings has been worked on A shredder will be used to clear the debris. The overgrown roses have been dug out. Unfortunately the 2nd team of community payback workers were not supervised sufficiently and mud thrown over several vehicles. This has been given a warning and any further poor behaviour and they will not be allowed back.
RESOLVED A different team to attend in January.

539. Community speed watch
This has still not happened due to Christmas
RESOLVED Councillor Lawrence to report next month,
540. Traffic issues over the last month, road repairs
A speed gun was being used in the village. In November, 10 offenders were seen. There has been no answer to the highway application and these will be chased.
RESOLVED Chairman Siddall contact Cllr. Mark Durham, Kevin Bentley and MP Priti Patel re the highway applications..
541. Memorial plaque update
Councillor Lawrence said at this stage nothing has been received.
RESOLVED To be chased up and reported back next month
The amount of £8,200 was agreed on by all present.
RESOLVED The Clerk to take the completed form to MDC.
543. Training for Councillors
The councillors decided at this stage there was no need for training.

545. Correspondence and update from District Councillor
Dog bins – the one in Sawyers field has now been replaced.
Annual Parish Council meeting to be held at 7.30pm on the 7th May, immediately before the normal monthly meeting.
Annual Parish meeting to be held at 7pm on Friday, 15th May. Both at the Evangelical Church Hall.
Peter Wakelin, ex Little Totham Parish Chairman and Councillor is to attend the Buckingham Palace garden party in appreciation of his many years work.
There is to be a meeting to discuss the VE fete
MDC have now filed their accounts for 2018/19
The new website for MDC is now up and running.
Sawyers field, discussions to begin re: Little Totham Parish Council taking over responsibility.
RESOLVED District Councillor Siddall to continue to report what is happening at MDC.
There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.20 p.m.
