Welcome to the Kingston Choral Society website
Musical Director: Andrew Griffiths
One of Surrey’s leading choirs, focussing on high-quality classical concerts. Kingston Choral Society is a vibrant, friendly mixed-voice choir based in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. We give four concerts a year, mostly in Kingston and Surbiton, but also in Cadogan Hall, Chelsea, performing with professional orchestras and soloists of the highest calibre. Our concerts cover a wide range of music from the 17th century through to the present day, including new works. We have about 100 singers and welcome new members to join us.
NEXT CONCERT: 18th November – All Saints Church, Kingston
KCS opens its 2023-4 season with a feast of superb British music. We continue our exploration of the gorgeous works of George Dyson with Hierusalem; its gentle lyricism contrasts with the energy of Britten’s early Te Deum and Grace Williams’ plangent Elegy for Strings. The climax of our programme is provided by Cecilia McDowall’s wonderful Da Vinci Requiem, written in 2019 to mark the quincentenary of the artist’s death.
Benjamin Britten: Te Deum in C
Grace Williams: Elegy for Strings (Orchestra)
George Dyson: Hierusalem
Cecilia McDowall: Da Vinci Requiem
