In October 2016, the residents of the Kersal Moor area received notification of Salford City Football Club’s planning application to redevelop and increase the capacity of their ground into a Stadium to accommodate over 5000 people.
The planning application was submitted without proper and thorough prior consultation or engagement with the local community. The residents of Kersal Moor felt that their views had not really been requested, welcomed or considered by the management of SCFC.
The planning proposals precipitated a meeting of concerned residents which led to the formation of the Kersal Moor Residents’ Association (KMRA) .
The association is a non-profit organisation that represents the views of the local residents on a range of different issues and is staffed by a volunteer committee of committed local residents.
