Hunmanby Carnival in the 1970's

All these photographs from 1972 and 1973 have been kindly supplied by Ernie, who recorded many events in the local area for well over half a century. As a keen photographer, Ernie kindly donated many photographs to history exhibitions in the village. Ernie has offered these remaining photographs so they can be scanned and the happy events he recorded may give enjoyment to others. They are from a simpler era, when communities made their own entertainment, few went abroad on holiday,  no mobile phones, no day time TV, (if you were lucky you may have the 'testcard' to watch!) and there were only 3 TV channels. The first episode of Emmerdale Farm was due to be broadcast in October of '72.
