Honiton 55+ Centre calls for donations

Honiton 55+ Centre is calling for donations and household goods to help raise vital funds to provide essential services for older people.

Opened by Neil Parish MP for Tiverton and Honiton and Caroline Kolek, Honiton Town Mayor, Honiton 55+ Centre Community Interest Company (CIC) plans to run a series of events to raise money so the Centre can provide crucial activities like bathing, lunches and social coffee mornings, as well as additional activities like hairdressers, manicures and computer training sessions for local people.

The centre, which used to be called St Michael’s provides a wide range of activities for people who may feel isolated, have mobility issues or just want to have coffee or lunch and a chat.

For the next fundraiser, the centre is appealing for books, cds, dvds, clothes, toys, household items (but not electrical items) and games – as well as cash donations and more volunteers. Simply drop items off at the Centre in Orchard Way, Honiton on the days it’s open: Monday, Thursday and Friday plus Saturday mornings.

On August 10th 2015 the Honiton 55+ will be opening at St.Michael's Centre, Orchard Way.

The centre will open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays 9.00am to 4.00pm and Saturdays 9.00am to 1.00pm.
