Services of Worship

Morning services at both churches are at 10.30am every Sunday and occasionally at 6.30pm at Brockworth as specified in the church magazine or in the events calendar. There is a Sunday Junior Church during the second half of the morning service.

We celebrate Communion - the breaking of bread - on

the first Sunday of the month at Gloucester and
the third Sunday of the month at Brockworth.

Hymns are taken from Mission Praise or Rejoice and Sing.

Womens World Day of Prayer Service - Members are involved in the Womens World day of Prayer and represent us all at the seminars and service.

For 2013 the country was France with the theme, 'I was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me'. This years service was held at 2:15pm on Friday, March 1st at St Johns Northgate.

The service in 2010 was held at Gloucester URC and the theme was, ‘Let everything that has breath praise God’. It was prepared by the Christian woman of Cameroon and the joyous occasion took place at our church on the 5th March. We were joined by Mrs Joanne Brown, the Sheriff’s Lady and it was good to hear Malachie’s message. (the previous year it was ladies of Papua New Guinea). The conference to study the 2011 years service was held at Salem Baptist church and was prepared by the Christian ladies of Chile. The service for 2012, for the City Centre Churches, was held on Friday the 2nd March at the Salvation Army at 2:30 pm with speaker Major J Bradbury. The service for the Brockworth area churches was held at our Brockworth church on Friday 2nd March. All were welcome, men, women and young people, with the theme, 'Let Justice Prevail', prepared by the Christian women of Malaysia.

Bible Society Sunday Service - Members are actively involved with the local Bible Society and keep us informed of events, initiatives, and how the Bible changes people’s lives. We thank them for leading us in celebration of Bible Society Sunday services which also raise much needed funds. At the service in 2010 we raised £80 for Bible Society Funds. Your generosity, once again, through the envelope collection, enabled us to forward £119; the previous appeal supported 43 urgent Bible translations. We were reminded that it is only through appeals to churches around the world, and that includes us, that the Bible Society is able to continue its work.

Hospital Chapel Service for Patients – Our date this year 2013, was Sunday 5th May.  Click here for an order of service.

Service of Favourite Bible passages - While the service was held on the 26th we would like to share with you the chosen Bible passages. They were:-
