Narcotics Anonymous (NA) - For all the information you need about Narcotics Anonymous in the UK. NA Helpline for the UK: 0300 999 1212.
‘The NA Helpline is often the first point of contact for people needing support and advice about the nature of drug addiction. Anyone from the using addict, their friends and family members through to drug workers and the press are welcome to call. The NA Helpline is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week’. NA say that this is a new number which is ‘subsidised by NA, so is almost free from a landline & the price of calling a landline when using a mobile’.
Recovery Programmes. The 12 step recovery programme.
What is the 12 step recovery programme? Wikipedia starts by saying: A Twelve-Step Program is a set of guiding principles (accepted by members as 'spiritual principles,' based on the approved literature) outlining a course of action for recovery from addiction, compulsion, or other behavioural problems. The Nelson Trust - Beyond Addiction
Rehab Online is a directory of residential rehabilitation services for adult drug and/or alcohol misusers in England and Wales. It will give you information about these services, whether you are a member of the public, a professional or a service user.
The National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA) is a National Health Service (NHS) special health authority, established to improve the availability, capacity and effectiveness of drug treatment in England.
NHS Gloucestershire Care Services – Drug and Alcohol Team (DAAT)
DrugScope - DrugScope is the national membership organisation for the drug sector and the UK's leading independent centre of expertise on drugs and drug use.
Hope UK - Hope UK is a charity with Christian foundations. Their Drug Educators work with people from all backgrounds and groups of other faiths and none. “All young people need high quality drug and alcohol education so they have a thorough knowledge of their effects and harms and have the skills and confidence to choose not to use drugs and alcohol.” (Government Drugs Strategy). Hope UK works with communities throughout the UK, as well as schools, to prevent drug and alcohol-related harm to children and young people. Interactive drug education sessions, Training, Drug Educators, Useful Contacts, interactive drug awareness sessions for children and those responsible for them, etc.
