Grimsargh village is situated mid-way between Preston and Longridge on the B.6243 and it's affairs are managed locally by the Grimsargh Parish Council. In 2003, the Council embarked upon the preparation and production of a Parish Plan which looked at all aspects of village life. Following the publication of this Parish Plan in 2005, the Friends of Grimsargh Green (FOGG) was formed with the intention of addressing the many shortcomings which had been highlighted on the Village Green. FOGG is made up from a small group of volunteers whose aims are to improve Grimsargh Village Green to make it accessible for everybody and this included a complete upgrade and refurbishment of the Children's Play area to modern standards.
Our work is carried out in conjunction with Preston City Council, who are the owners of the Village Green. However, we receive no direct funding for our work, everything to date has been paid for by way of grants, donations and fundraising events. The cost of the Play Area upgrade had been met through Section 106 funding which arose from a development carried out by Redrow Homes in Grimsargh and which has allowed for a very effective use of this funding to create a play area that is available to all sections of the community in Grimsargh.
