FORP TIDY UP THE PARK
At the recent committee meeting of the Friends of Rectory Park, it was agreed that we as a group would meet on the second Saturday in the month, as a park's working party to tidy up some of the area in the park that we considered required some attention.
Last Saturday armed with spades, shovels, brooms and a variety of gardening implements including a wheelbarrow we set to work on the Hollyfield entrance to Rectory Park and cleared over 100 meters of the right hand side of the driveway of the unwanted vegetation, including small shrubs, weeds and grasses enough to fill 10 green bags plus an assortment of bottles, cans and waste paper. The width of the driveway into the park has now been increased in places by over a meter. It was hard work as the driveway had not been attended to for many years but we were grateful to Wenlock Spring who provided us with bottles of fresh spring water.
