Easter Fair 2014

Fifty children met the Easter Bunny in April for an Easter egg hunt and nature trail around the Gardens.  Everybody won a creme egg and a little easter chick as well as other fun novelties. Great fun for all in lovely weather!

Richmond Community Awards 2013

Twenty-eight residents from around the borough were honoured on the 21 September at an event to celebrate the Richmond Community Awards. Members of the public were invited to nominate those residents who they feel work tirelessly to help improve the quality of lives for others. Over the four week nomination period nearly 150 nominations were received. An officer panel chaired by the Cabinet Member for Communities, Business and Culture, reviewed each nomination and selected a final 28 to be presented with an award.

The winners were nominated for a wide range of activities, ranging from those who have established and managed community groups, those who organise community events, residents who have volunteered or raise money for charity and those who help support the most vulnerable in society.

The new scheme aims to recognise individuals who have brought credit to the borough, given outstanding service to the community, improved the quality of life for local people or benefited the community through community involvement or volunteering.

The Friends of Cambridge Gardens are pleased to announce that our very own Chair, Helen Baker was nominated and honoured with an award! Helen was nominated for her role as Chair of Cambridge Gardens and her commitment to the development of East Twickenham.

Green Flag Award 2013/2014

In 2013 Cambridge Gardens was proudly awarded a national Green Flag Award!

The Green Flag Awards scheme is the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces in the UK.

It was first launched in 1996 to recognise and reward the best green spaces in the country. The first awards were given in 1997 and, many years later, it continues to provide the benchmark against which parks and green spaces are measured. It is also seen as a way of encouraging others to achieve high environmental standards, setting a benchmark of excellence in recreational green areas.
