BSR as Building Control Authority

Since 1st October 2023 the Building Safety Regulator is the Building Control Authority for all residential buildings over 18ms (instead of the Local Council.)There is a new, extended definition of what counts as something that has to be submitted to the BSR for building control approval – it includes structural alterations but also works to passive and active fire safety systems, work on common parts, changing the building layout (including the layout or fire safety systems of individual flats)
