Friends in High Places is an informal community of leaseholders who serve as Directors of Resident Management Companies or Right to Manage Companies across the Isle of Dogs (E14) and nearby areas of Tower Hamlets.
We come together in 2016 to share knowledge, support one another, and exchange practical experience in building management and building safety, with leaseholders who take an interest in managing their building.
Buildings in the area that are seeking RTM or Enfranchisement are also welcome to join the group.
To access the Members Private Discussion Board: You need to log into E-Voice to access the Private Discussion Board.
In the Isle of Dogs and surrounding neighbourhoods there are at least 27 developments that have RTM or RMC.
Of those, at least 24 are Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs) registered with the Building Safety Regulator, representing over 2,500 flats.
The new Building Safety Regime places significant new legal responsibilities on volunteer Directors. On our Useful Links page you will find a range of resources to help you understand your responsiblities if you are a volunteer RTM or RMC Director. By joining our group you will be able to access our Members Private Discussion Board to share lessons and experience with other volunteer Directors.
As a group we are currently raising our concerns with the Building Safety Regulator about how the new regime operates, and making recommendations for how the process could be significantly improved.
