We all know how influential communal leaders are in the lives of people of faith.

Each of us has been touched so many times by the inspirational words and deeds of faith leaders.

You are the people who can reach out, communicate, reassure and guide people - in their greatest joy and in their deepest grief or despair. We are asking you to support our mission of eliminating HIV transmission in our communities, and guaranteeing the pastoral support that is so desperately needed by those living with HIV, or the family and friends affected by HIV.

Your guidance in this delicate area will be vital to ensuring that our communities can openly address the issues that lead to continued HIV infections - reducing the stigma around this subject to allow people to gain valuable information; promoting inclusivity so that no member of our communities feels isolated; the importance of good sexual health practices; encouraging and supporting people to be tested so that they are aware of their status. And should someone find they are diagnosed as HIV positive - to support them through the emotional and physical challenge of accessing phenomenally successful modern medical treatments.

How might you do this?

Perhaps by raising the issue in a sermon? Or by inviting FaithWorks to run an educational workshop within your community? Or posting a link to our website or other HIV support sites? Or writing a short article in a communal newsletter? Or contributing to our social media output?

But you can start by contacting us here at FaithWorks. We will support you in discovering the modern truths about HIV and related issues. We will work with you to devise a strategy for ensuring that your faith community remains healthy and aware.

And we would love to hear your views on all these matters. We know all too well that we don't have all the answers! By working together, we hope that you can help us find more answers to this ongoing health pandemic.

We really look forward to hearing from you.
