Reort to the 2018 AGM:

Membership:

The total membership at today’s date is 260 households whose memberships are all up to date.

It is not proposed to ask for an annual subscription at this point in time but we will continue to ask for a £5 joining fee for new members. Further renewal subscriptions will be requested when there is a specific item of expenditure which we are looking to fund.

Finance:

The accounts for the year to the 30th May 2018 showed income of £80 from new members and renewals and expenditure of £219. The expenditure represented primarily membership of CPRE, the cost of hall hire for public meetings and the cost of trustee indemnity insurance.

This small deficit reduced the cumulative funds in the bank at 30th May 2017 to £2,244 for general purposes and the sum of £1,930 received towards the future cost of equipment in the play area.. The latter sum is being kept as a designated reserve which can only be used for the specific purpose. In addition there was £3940 received for the road safety campaign. Total funds in the bank at 30th May 2018 were thus £8,115.

Since the beginning of June 2018 further funds have been received for the road safety campaign and the committee has decided to allocate £1,500 of the general funds to this campaign. There is thus about £6,600 currently available to be spent for this purpose.
