Doddinghurst Village Bus and Current Timetable.
TRIPS ARE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS
Doddinghurst Village Bus is operated under the auspices of the Parish Council with the intention of providing day trips for the residents of Doddinghurst to places of interest. The service is constituted as a non-profit organisation and the fares charged cover only the cost of the mini-buses provided by Brentwood Community Transport (photo is of the 14 seater bus "Arthur"), the BCT membership fee and the costs of Midas driver certification plus the expenses incurred by drivers in the course of a journey.
Monthly same day trips usually include one to Bluewater or other main shopping venue plus an excursion to a place of interest. The travelling time is normally under two hours, and we aim to return to Doddinghurst in the late afternoon.
Programmes are arranged at 6 monthly intervals and timetables are displayed on the Parish Council Notice Boards by the Post Office and the Village Hall. Additionally, a rolling two month schedule is included in every edition of the "Link", or full listing may be obtained by download from this website.
To reserve a place on any outing please telephone the driver, whose name, and contact telephone number is given in the list. The vehicles are wheel chair accessible, but please discuss this with the driver at the time of booking. Electric scooters cannot be accommodated.
Buses will leave Doddinghurst from The Village Hall car park at 09:30am -unless stated otherwise. Pre booking is essential. Please contact the driver. Bus passes are not valid on the Village Bus.
