The Parish Council is in early discussions with East West Rail regarding height restriction barriers at the entrance of the community hall car park.

Over recent months, there have been instances of contractors working on behalf of East West Rail and/or HS2 parking in the community hall car park. It is hoped that by installing a height restrictor we will be able to stop larger unauthorised vehicles parking in the car park whilst works are taking place nearby. Initial proposals are a 6 metre barrier and additional posts to fill the width of the car park entrance in line with the back of the bus stop shelter. The barrier would allow cars and 4x4 vehicles but restrict access for vans and lorries, it could be fully opened with a key to ensure that anyone hiring the hall, who might have a larger vehicle, could still have access.

We are hoping to have this installed as soon as possible as we are already seeing contractors working in the area. The installation would be permanent and the Parish Council feels that this would be the best way to ensure that the car park is used appropriately both now and in the future.

If you have any comments, questions or concerns in relation to the installation of a height restriction barrier then please contact our Parish Clerk via our website as soon as possible.
