Catforth Village hall
After the demand and success of Beavers - started November 2011 - two parents decided to start 1 st Catforth cubs so that their children could progress to cubs within the village.
The first meeting was on the 12 th September and attendance was what was expected -6 children.
During the first term we acquired 2 more making us 8 strong.
We worked on our astronomy badge which our cubs loved. The village hall was perfect for stargazing from. We also set off a water powered rocket. We had Peter from Blackpool astronomy club give us a informative talk.
Somehow we fit a trip to Manchester airport museum in and saw Concorde in preparation for our air activities badge next term.
On 24 th September 8 cubs and both leaders were invested in a ceremony by the county commissioner. Catforth cubs were official!!
We are two weeks into our second term and have another two cubs join making us 10!
By this time next year we are expecting to be 20 strong due to beavers coming of age and swimming up.
Our first two weeks have been packed full and 7 th November we had our first campfire night at Kaa's farm: it was fab playing tig in the dark, singing, pioneering and best of all camp food.
We also celebrated Beavers being 1 year old with a fab party that cubs were kindly invited to.
We will be completing our air activities badge this term and have two trips planned. 28 th nov comedy carpet in Blackpool and our Christmas party at pizza express Lytham making our own pizzas .
We would welcome new cubs contact beckie ( Akela) , rob (kaa)
