November 2013 message from Zac Goldsmith MP:

Dear Resident,

The Government has published stage two of their consultation on Aviation noise, entitled:

Night Flying Restrictions at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Stage 2 Consultation.

As is so often the case with Government consultations, the process is overly complicated, cumbersome and off-putting. I therefore asked campaign group HACAN if they'd help prepare simple guidelines for those residents wanting to respond. I hope you agree that what they have produced is extremely helpful.

I do very strongly encourage residents to answer the consultation before the closing date of 31 January 2014, and to encourage their friends and family to do the same.

The consultation responses should be made online, or by email to: Noise.paper@airports.gsi.gov.uk clearly marked as a response to the,'Night Flying Restrictions at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Stage 2 Consultation'.

The DfT will announce its final decision in Spring 2014.

Very best wishes and thank you for your help,

Zac Goldsmith

MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston

July 2013: message from Zac Goldsmith MP

Sir Howard Davies's Airports Commission, which was appointed by the Government to look at airport capacity in 2012, has published a consultation paper on Aviation noise.

Sir Howard Davies has said: 'understanding the impact of noise from aviation on communities around airports and under flight paths is central to the Airport Commission's work. Responses received on this important issue will inform the Commission's assessment of options to make best use of existing airport capacity and any future recommendations to Government for new airport capacity'.

I therefore strongly encourage residents to answer the consultation before the closing date of 6th September, and to encourage their friends and family to do the same.

Campaign group, HACAN has helpfully provided a step by step guide for those of your wishing to submit short, non-technical responses to the paper.

Very best wishes,

Zac Goldsmith

MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston
