Yes, you must be a resident with the borough of Surrey Heath and pay council tax to SHBC to apply for a plot.
You can apply for a plot at any number of the CDHS sites. Each site has a different number of plots and a varying turnover rate, so you may get a plot sooner by appyling to several sites.
CDHS charges a ground rent, currently 15p per sq M per plot per annum. This is reviewed annually.
Each site charges its own water rate to cover the water usage on that site, reviewed annually. Typically this is around 10p per sq M, though some sites charge a flat rate per half or full plot.
For a medium sized plot of 125 sq M, the cost will be around £31 per annum.
Some sites charge an additional fee to cover the costs of tools and machinery.
Most sites also charge a refundable gate key deposit.
Most sites do not have toilets on-site. Barossa and Cross Lane are currently having trials with on-site serviced toilets during the growing season.
