The People's emergency briefing films have been screened at Gusto House Collingham, The Searson’s Head and St Peter's Cross Keys Academy in July and September 2026. they were well attended by people wanting to understand the scale of the climate emergency. The session was facilitated Newark Environment and Sustainability together ( NEST).

The audience were seeking balanced and comprehensive information which is largely absent from mainstream media. The film covered topics including weather and climate, health, economics, food and farming, energy and security. After the film the group discussed personal, community and for some, professional actions.

The film offered solutions which would address climate change and be more healthy and economically viable for us all. Whilst the film clearly describes the climate, health and ecological emergencies it challenged viewers to act and create hope in doing so.

Steff Wright, a Nottinghamshire Deputy Lieutenant and entrepreneur was there guiding the audience and hosting the event in Collingham.

The meeting closed with participants committing to personal actions and agreement that the film should be shown widely in businesses, local community groups and council and to young adults and students in Newark. The UK drought and devastating fires in UK and Europe are a reminder that climate change is a reality. Many organisations are recommending that their members should see the film.

The National Trust supports the wider National Emergency Briefing initiative and its accompanying public film, The People's Emergency Briefing, viewing it as a valuable, non-partisan tool to foster informed community discussions about the urgent realities of climate change and nature loss.

The film has been screened more than 3500 times across the UK with more to follow and individuals and groups are campaigning to get it shown National Media.
