Police House Closure
BROUGHTON POLICE STATION
With the closure of Woodplumpton Police House, Broughton Police Station is the nearest base for the rural beat officers, however a consultation was launched regarding the possible closure of Broughton and Fulwood police offices.
The Parish Council objected to these proposals and was asked to display an information sheet (compiled by a concerned resident) to help other residents object.

Further to the consultation and a well attended public meeting, it has been confirmed that Broughton Police station will remain open following strong representations by local Parish Councils and residents.
The police are now looking to recruit new volunteers to help at the police station. There are many ways in which you could assist as a volunteer from delivering newsletters, attending meetings and taking notes, to helping run the front office of the station itself. You can help by contributing as many hours as you like.
