Parish Council's Formal Objection to the application. A decision on the application was delayed due the possible impact on the M55 Highway Agency Concerns

On the 20th December, a financial package (called a S106 agreement) was submitted by the developer as an attempt to   improve the roads and traffic flow associated with the additional traffic.

Preston City Council Planning committee considered the application on the 9th January. Havng listened to the report by the planning officers accessed here and having considered the objections, the Committee voted on the application with 8 members voting for it and 8 voting against. The Chair used his casting vote and voted in favour of the development and the application has been APPROVED with a Section 106 agreement.

The Parish Council requested that the application be deferred as the Parish had not had an opportunity to consider the S106 agreement. This request was unsuccesful and a letter was sent to the City Council to raise concerns regarding how the decision was taken. LETTER A. In addition the Parish Council wrote to request that the Secretary of State intervene on planning grounds LETTER B. Replies have been received to both letters and these will be discussed at the February meeting - see Agenda.
