Parish Lengthsman

Woodplumpton Parish Council contracts a Parish Lengsthman. The scheme is also partly funded and supported by Lancashire County Council.

Our Lengthsman is Mr Austin Senior. He is contracted to help with a wide variety of jobs which include

 

  • grass cutting,
  • vegetation clearance
  • maintaining roadside verges
  • ensuring public footpaths are accessible
  • litter control / fly tipping, complaints

Austin also maintains the flower beds at Whittle Hill and will be involved in other environmental projects to help keep our Parish one of the most attractive,cleanest and tidiest in the area.

 

The Lengthsman scheme is intended to compliment and enhance many jobs which are ultimately the responsibility of the City and County Council. To ensure that there is not an overlap of care, all of his work has to be allocated and authorised by the Parish Council.
