Farm Watch Scheme

A farm watch scheme is currently up and running in the rural areas.

The police have sent letters out to all farms and rural properties to see if they would like to join the scheme.

The idea is that emails are sent out regularly to members of Farm Watch. These include details of when crimes have been occurring, details of suspicious vehicles in the area and also crime prevention advice.

The scheme is like a neighbourhood watch scheme but is specifically for farm and rural properties.

The police have submitted a funding application for additional signs to be erected outside properties that are part of the scheme along with a crime prevention pack for each property.

The scheme currently has over 400 members and the initiative is significantly reducing crime in the rural areas.

If anybody wants to join the scheme or would like further information please contact PCSO Reid at Broughton Police Station on 01772 863390 or by email david.reid@lancashire.pnn.police.uk
