Health and Safety
Wherever you work in the UK, and for however long, both you and
your employer have rights and responsibilities regarding health and
safety.
The Health and Safety Executive is a government organisation that
works to protect the health, safety and welfare of workers by
enforcing health and safety law and offering advice and support. If
you have an accident at work, no matter how minor, you must report
it to your supervisor, a union representative or the company Safety
Officer. Ensure that your injury is entered in the accident book. If
you are off work because of an accident, see a doctor and say that
you have been injured at work. Request a certificate to send to your employer. You may qualify for benefit.
