• Check for a padlock icon at the bottom of your browser window.

This shows it is a secure site. The web

address should also start 'https:'.

• Never send your bank details via email.

• Make sure that you get a good internet security programme for

your computer. There are many viruses on the internet; some of

which will just cause a disturbance, but some other, more serious

viruses can completely destroy the workings of your computer, and

some can even track your personal details and bank details. A

good internet security programme will keep these viruses at bay and

keep you safe.
