Funding

VANL provides advice on funding matters, including suggestions of possible sources of funding and help to bring constitutions, policies and procedures up to date before applying. Funders mostly now require any organisation applying for funding to have proper procedures in place and to be able to prove that they function efficiently and in a sustainable fashion. 

 

 

VANL also runs the Community Pot – a diverse group of small funding sources – on behalf of various organisations. The Community Pot is looking for applications for projects working around Community Safety, where funding is currently available. External funding sources currently available include (please click on the links for more information):

 

Procurement     

 

Community Spaces Program - Funding community groups who want to improve local green spaces such as play areas, community gardens, parks, wildlife areas and village greens, kick-about areas and pathway improvements.
Age UK Summer Grants Programme - Funding in support of activities for older people aged 50 and over
Key Fund Yorkshire - Support packages between £1000 and £50,000 for social buisnesses working in disadvantaged areas of yorkshire and humberside 
Key Fund Yorkshire - Cash Flow Loan - Loans of £1000 to £15,000 for social enterprises in yorkshire and humberside
LLoyds TSB Foundation - Foundation funding can support core funding; salary costs; maintaining or improving capacity; supporting the expansion of services; encouraging learning  and best practice; lobbying or campaigning at a local, regional or national level and new projects.
Scaling up - Funding for youth leadership programs
Community Owned Pubs Support Program - Funding to help communities buy their local pubs
Woodward Charitable trust - funding for organisations in the UK working with social and ethnic minority groups, prisoners and ex-offenders, homelessness, people experiencing abuse and addiction.
National Churches Trust - Funding for repair and facility additions to places of worship
Reaching Communities Fund - Funding for projects that help people or communities that are most in need
Community Builders Programme - Funding for 'community anchor' organisations. eg; trusts, multi purpose community organisations.
Cash 4 Clubs - Funding for community sports clubs to improve their facilities, equipment or coaching
Tesco Charity Trust - one-off donations of between £500 and £4,000 to local projects that support children and their education and welfare, elderly people and adults and children with disabilities

Community Led Planning - £20,000 for community groups to develop community led plans - A Pot of £20,000 to support community led groups during planning.

 

Drinkaware Grants - Changing the UK's drinking culture - grant awards from £2000 to £100,000 for projects aiming to change the UK's drinking culture for the better 

Young Person’s Volunteering Fund - funding programme for volunteering projects owned  by 14-25 year olds
Enhancing Communities - funding programme for community improvement projects, with grants up to £50,000 available
The Wates Foundation - Promoting work that builds social values and responsibility and provides access to opportunities that address disadvantage.
Northern Rock - £15m annual fund which aims to tackle disadvantage and improve quality of life in the North East and Cumbria
