Esmée Fairbairn Foundation

Summary/Overview:
The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is one of the largest independent grant making foundations in the UK. The foundation funds projects "which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK, both now and in the future. We like to consider work which others may find hard to fund, perhaps because it breaks new ground, appears too risky, requires core funding, or needs a more unusual form of financial help such as a loan."
Four main programmes are funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation; Education, Social Change, Arts & Heritage and Environment. The criteria and application process is clearly laid out, and the website provides a well-designed portal to find out information and further contact details. The Foundation also supports some work outside of the four main programmes, details of this can be found on the website.
