Well, it’s 3 days since our second ever Summer Ball and I’m still smiling about it!

It was a huge success and we’re just so, so happy everyone had such a lovely time.

We’ve had lots and lots of fabulous feed back from people saying how much they enjoyed themselves which makes all the hard work worth it.

I would like to say thank you to Just Precious Shoots for coming and taking lots of professional pics of everyone in their best suits and frocks (photos to follow later - once we get them sent to us, we’ll aim to have them printed and ready to give out in the new autumn term, so you can all take them home).

Thank you once again to Jims - South Norfolk Ice Cream for paying us a visit and treating us all to the BEST ice cream ever, we highly recommend them!

And of course….a HUUUUUUGE thank you to Michelle Miles for entertaining us all night. You are a part of our Thursday Club family and we always look forward to your visits and can’t wait for the next one.

Thank you to all our members, support workers and family members who made the night so much fun. You all looked absolutely gorgeous and we really appreciate all the effort everyone put in. We do everything for you guys and gals, but without you attending every week and getting involved it just wouldn’t work and we wouldn’t have been running for almost 60 years. So, thank you to all of you too!

And lastly, a personal note from me……..

I want to extend my gratitude and thanks to each and every volunteer who made the Summer Ball (and every other club night!), such a huge success. I’ve lost count of the messages, meetings, emails, shopping trips, sandwich making, sausages roll/cake making, phone calls and much more it takes to make an evening like this such a success.

Our volunteers give up so much of their free time for our club and always with a smile! I would be lost without them all and can’t thank them enough…..We have THE BEST team ever - we couldn’t do it without you.

We all hope you have a wonderful summer break (with a little less rain

and a bit more sun) and we will see you again on 7th September 2023!

PLEASE feel free to email us or tag us Lowestoft Thursday Club in your holiday photos, so we can see what you lovely lot are up during your holidays.

For now, have a look back at some of the photos from the Summer Ball in our photo album section. (These are the ones we took, not Just Precious Shoots btw!)

Take care.

Wow, what a night it was for our final get together of 2022 - our Christmas party!

(It really made me smile looking at these pics as I uploaded them).

It takes lots and lots of planning, prep and hard work from our team of volunteers in the lead up to the party and on the night itself, but it’s definitely all worth it seeing so many of you having such a good time.

Thanks to Father Christmas for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and visit us. Also, a special thanks to Steve Hall for doing such a great job entertaining and keeping us dancing all night.

Speaking of our volunteers - I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you for everything you do and have done over the past few years. We‘ve certainly had lots of challenges, but thanks you all of you, we’ve overcome it all and are back, bigger and better than ever, we couldn’t do this without you all!

To our wonderful members, families, guardians and support workers - you are all amazing! Thank you for sticking with us through Covid, venue changes and lack of heating (the last few weeks!). Without all of you, we simply wouldn‘t be where we are today.

We have lots and lots of fun evenings and activities planned for next year and we can’t wait to welcome you all back on 23rd February 2023.

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and safe New Year.

Lots of love.

Well, I think we can safely say our first ever Summer Ball went with a bang, don’t you?

It took months of planning, meetings, messages and lots of phone calls between the committee, but it was all definitely worth it.

With free hotdogs, photographers and an ice cream van hired especially for our wonderful Thursday Club family, I think it’s safe to say everyone enjoyed themselves.

All the planning and prep would have been completely pointless without our incredible members getting fully onboard with our idea for this event, you were all amazing and you all looked fabulous!!!

Thanks to all the mums, dads, aunts, uncles, grannies, grandads, caregivers and support workers for swapping shifts (to make sure members could get to the event!), making extra trips to get the members there, dressing up fancy/smart and helping the guys and gals to dress up and have a fab time on the night.

I also just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to our wonderful committee and team of volunteers (who actually scrub up alright when they want to, don’t they?!), who always go above and beyond for Thursday Club, we make a great team and we couldn’t do this without you all.

We really hoped you enjoyed it, please drop us a comment and let us know your feedback because it would be lovely to know if you had a great time and perhaps you could say if you might like this to be an annual event before our summer break each year?

It’s been a hard few years for everyone and all of us at Thursday Club would like to extend our gratitude to you all for your continued support. We are completely self-funded and run entirely by volunteers and we literally couldn’t do this without our fantastic members coming each week and from the generosity of our fab community!!!

We hope you have the best summer break ever! Perhaps you could email us your holiday photos so we can see what fun things you’re all up to over the summer?

See you all back to club on 8th September!

Lots of love.
