Take Part Project  celebrates its participants

The achievements of several local community members were recognised as Take part held its first Champions Ceremony on 25th September for its Participants. Attended by the Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Michael downing, it was a colourful and vibrant affair as many came in elegant traditional clothing.

The Mayor awarded members a certificate recognising their achievements in the various courses they have completed so far with Take Part.

During the ceremony, Take part members had the opportunity to discuss issues surrounding equality and diversity, leadership and the community, resulting in a large range of new creative ideas, new friendships and a better idea of where Take Part can go next.

The day gave guests an opportunity to discover the different activities in which they could get involved and for current members to sign up for forthcoming workshops, visits and various programmes the project is offering in the next few months.

Visit to the Houses of Parliament

A unique opportunity to discover the Houses of Parliament from the inside: the building, the people.  The next visit takes place on 10th November 2010 so get in touch with Anne to secure your place at the unique opportunity!

 

Charity Law and Trustee Roles

This workshop aims to improve understanding in charity law in voluntary sector organisations.  Participants will be able to:

  • Identify the skills needed by an effective trustee.
  • Identify sources of information and advice about charity law and trusteeship.

Course Date: 28th October 2010, 5.30-8.30pm

 

Communication and Presentation Skills course

The communication and presentation skills course takes place every Tuesday evening 5.30-8pm starting from 28th September 2010 until 2nd November 2010.  It is a unique development course designed specifically for Take Part, that allows each person the opportunity to:

  • Find out how to achieve more in less time and learn the art of delegation.
  • Explore constructive ways of communicating.
  • Present their topics in a clear and concise way.
  • Develop positive outcomes in their lives.
