Has been representing constituents views in Brussels for many years having been the longest standing MEP for the East Midlands region.

My role in parliament is as a full member of the Development Committee and an Alternate member of the Environment Committee as well as being one of the five Quaestors in the Parliament.

I am a strong advocate on environmental issues, having supported campaigns in Fisheries and done work in the European Parliament to stop the use of harmful chemicals in products. In 2009 I also co-founded the European Parliament forum for the combat of counterfeit contraband and organised crime which brought attention to smuggling, copyright infringement and organised crime in the EU.
