School Vision
Vision
The vision of Priory Lane Junior School is to achieve a whole school approach to enable our children to develop the skills, attitudes and concepts necessary for them to fulfil their potential. We aim to provide a caring and stimulating environment where all children have a healthy self-esteem and feel safe and valued as individuals.
Aim
The aim of Priory Lane Junior School is to achieve its Vision.
Every member of the school community will work together, in partnership, to enable children to:
Be healthy: develop physical, mental and emotionally healthy bodies through awareness of healthy lifestyles and choices.
Enjoy and achieve: develop lively, enquiring and creative minds and apply these across the curriculum. Recognise and celebrate their own strengths and those of others. Feel safe to acknowledge areas for development and strive to make improvements in a caring and supportive environment. Be happy to attend and enjoy school.
Stay safe: develop a reasoned set of attitudes, values and beliefs, which will enable them to become responsible, caring individuals in a multi-cultural society. Feel safe from bullying, discrimination and anti-social behaviour.
Make a positive contribution: engage in decision-making in supporting the school and the wider community. Demonstrate self-control and positive behaviour, therefore fostering positive relationships with others. Develop self-confidence to be able to deal with life changes and challenges. Provide opportunities to develop enterprising behaviour.
Achieve economic well-being: understand the world in which they live. Develop positive attitudes towards equality of opportunity. Begin to develop skills, attitudes and aspirations towards further education and ultimately employment.
