Middlesex Green

‘Middlesex Green’ is a new project especially for you - the residents of Middlesex Street Estate. It has even been created by you - the name was a resident’s idea, and we hope it won’t stop there! We have taken on board lots of your suggestions for activities from you and your neighbours, and have put together a range of activities that relate to living more healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable lives, that will also give you the opportunity to save money, to get to know your neighbours better, and to explore unique places that are right on your doorstep.

The activities

  • Free energy assessments
  • Installation of new cycle parking facilities
  • Go on a FREE guided walk around the City
  • Send us your recipes for your Community Cookbook
  • Take part in a recycling craft workshop at Christmas
  • Pick up gardening skills
  • Volunteer in your local green spaces

Update 12 Aug 2010:

The City of London has joined forces with Waste Watch to offer free home energy assessments to save you money on your bills and reduce carbon emissions. Waste Watch's Energy Advisors will be visiting soon (late August-early September) to find out which households are interested in using easy energy saving techniques. Waste Watch are also running the 'Middlesex Street Estate Energy Challenge' - can you cut your energy use by 20%?

Update 2 Aug 2010:

Send us your recipes for your Community Cookbook by the end of September! Just download a printable version of the recipe form or a Word version that you can edit electronically. Send it back to us however is easier for you. You can either:

  • Fill it in electronically and email it to us
  • Print it off and return it to you Estate Office
  • Collect a form from the Estate Office and return it there
