This is our first trip to the Wirral this year. Thurstaston, along with the other Wirral properties which also include Burton Wood, although small contain a great variety of countryside from rolling open country, dense-canopy woodland to lowland heath. Our main task on our previous visits to this worksite has been woodland work, it’s an SSSI, the trees and saplings need taking out so that it can be returned to its former glory as Heathland, it is home to rare bird and plant species. It’s likely that the task will be the same so wrap up warm and join us for this trip further afield.
