Inter-Faith & Community Cohesion
The League of British Muslims has worked tirelessly for decades to promote inter-faith understanding and community cohesion.
Two events that have become annual celebrations in the London Borough of Redbridge are the League's Celebrating Diversity in Redbridge park event and Dinner Celebration during December:
Celebrating Diversity in Redbridge - The League mounts a celebrating diversity event in each year in Valentines Park, Ilford. This two day event is funded jointly by the London Borough of Redbridge, the League’s own free reserves and income generated during the event. Its purpose is to bring people from all cultures, ethnicities and faiths together in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, which facilitates considerable mingling and conversation amongst p
The event has live music, children's amusements and cultural food from around the world.
There are information and advice stalls manned by the voluntary sector, police, housing, Job Centre Plus the army, and many others.
Last year more than 5,000 people were in attendance throughout the day, and fun was had by all!!
