Online Directory for Social Enterprises
Social enterprise support body Can is to launch a free online directorty that will list social enterprises and enable them to network.
This site is intended to help enterprises become more visible to the public and private sectors and to the media. It is also intended as a starting point for researches who want opinions from social enterprises and will enable them to give collective feedback to consultations on government policy.

MeWe launches Social Enterprise.
MeWe is has been using Open Source software since its founding in 2001 and since then we have employed Open Source in all our projects and in the organisations IT infrastructure - from servers to desk-top.
Open source software is becoming increasingly popular as it allows significant cost-savings and can be easily customised. Its ease of use and affordability is especially useful in the voluntary sector. It is widely used by NGO's and voluntary organisations throughout the world and businesses such as Google because of its community- oriented philosophy.
MeWe has won the rights to be the only Linux Professional Institute (LPI) approved training partner in London and the SE. The national ICT hubs have recently created a partnership with LPI to certify voluntary sector IT staff in Open Source implementation.
MeWe offers training and certified exams to the public and also the voluntary and community sector in this rapidly growing (and virus free!) alternative to Microsoft Windows.
