Our Mission Statement
Kingston Korean School aspires:
· to offer excellence in teaching, applying innovative teaching methods with an emphasis on individual learning, in a comfortable and friendly environment that promotes free and balanced personality development
· to strengthen Korean and Korean-British identity through the Korean language and culture
· to raise the status of the Korean language in the United Kingdom
· to support the integration of the Korean community in Britain and Europe and in particular to serve as a model for building bridges between Korean organisations, British people and other minorities in the United Kingdom and beyond.
Background Information Kingston Korean School is recognised as a supplementary school and supported by local government. Located in the heart of New Malden, which is home to the largest Korean community in the United Kingdom and Europe, with however about 90% young Koreans not attending Korean schools, Kingston Korean School aims to provide young Koreans, in particular from the ages of 4 to 18, with an opportunity to access Korean education in their neighbourhood, promoting a greener and safer environment. Although the main purpose of Kingston Korean School is to serve the needs of young Koreans, Kingston Korean School welcomes all people who are interested in studying Korean and learning about Korea. We aim to assist in the successful integration of those of dual or multi language background so that their bi- or multilingualism may become an asset both for themselves and the society in which they live
