Low Carbon Communities

Kingston FOE's project work is aimed at producing carbon neutral solutions linked to Zero Waste.

Our composting and growing projects are evolving to ensure that where possible items from the waste stream are used rather than new manufactured equipment.  Food plays a major part in Greenhouse Gas emissions and we are working on a low carbon diet educational programme linking growing, diet/health and waste issues.

Our new international partnership with our colleagues in West Africa is now committed to address Climate Change issues in waste, energy and agriculture as well as wider sustainable development issues including low carbon trade development that helps build better lives in the developing world and does not damage scarce resources.

Please contact Penny at PennyKFOE@aol.com if you would like to know more.

Carbon Rationing Action Groups (CRAGS) are new and evolving. Kingston Friends of the Earth have investigated CRAGS and decided that there should be a community based initative that allows people in the community to work on carbon reduction in a meaningful sense.

You can also see the CRAGS website for more information.
