We work under a Partnership Agreement with Friends of the Earth and run campaigns linked to Friends of the Earth. Our main community projects are an Educators Group and an Organics project linked to practical hands on solutions. Main community links with schools and now linking to West Africa (see organics, food and schools pages).
Local action with educational activities/resources aims to help to reduce carbon footprints/working within environmental limits. 'Parallel Projects' link Sierra Leone to Kingston's community.
We have information and resources for all including energy saving at home and school, food (schools launch of low carbon diet with RBK funded resource pack in September 2008), composting (see organics page - resources/info).
Our organics project has been established for a number of years and we are continuing to develop educational and practical resources and are progressing research in this area.In 2008 resources grown on our site will go with other resources to our inspired colleagues in West Africa. Our educational site launched with weekly sessions in March 2008.We continue to work with Friends of the Earth Sierra Leone and members are working to produce an independent initative with a first shipment to include IT equipment in Spring 2010.
For details of our next meeting (we change venues), please contact either Nick or Penny. We can provide you with direct contact to Friends of the Earth conferences, training, campaigns and networking.
