The Housing Action Service (HAS) was established by Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness in 1993.
KCAH offers both Housing Advice and Welfare Benefits Advice.

Services Offered:
We provide a range of services to clients with housing problems and in particular to single homeless households seeking accommodation.
Activity ranges from the provision of straightforward information and advice to formal advocacy to anyone in housing difficulty.
HAS will provide information and advice on statutory rights to housing, housing benefits and tenancy problems. It will assist households to find accommodation in the private rented sector and hostels and will refer to specialist agencies as appropriate.
During the year up to 31st March 2008, 554 new clients approached the Service for help with housing problems. Plus a further 2,722 on repeat visits
58% were aged under 35 and 32% of clients were aged under 25.
27% of our clients had tenancies.
28% of clients seen during 2007 were street homeless.
27% had no settled accommodation but were staying with friends.
