The Group considers local and national policing issues of importance to the community and plans for tackling crimes such as burglary, vehicle crime and criminal damage are discussed. Guest speakers are invited along to give talks on special topics. Membership of the group consists of over 40 local community groups, including Tenants and Residents Associations, religious groups, voluntary organisations,and local business concerns with senior police representatives, five Councillors, the three local Members of Parliament, and the Chair of the Independent Custody Visitors Panel in attendance.
