A month of varied green-themed events and activities around the borough, and an annual opportunity for local green groups, businesses and third sector organisations to join the growing number in Kingston that are doing their bit for the environment and for a better quality of life. You could promote what you already do or do something special for the festival – and benefit from the extra publicity leading up to Paint the Town Green. This year Paint the Town Green will include a launch event for a new Kingston declaration on sustainability, which we hope many local businesses and organisations will sign up to. For ideas and updates, and to register your green events or activities, please see http://www.kingston.gov.uk/browse/environment/environmental_events/paint_the_town_green.htm.
Please make a special effort to BYO bag if you are shopping in Kingston in May - and if by any chance you don't have one, come along to Stitch in Time's bag-making workshop on Wed May 2nd (see above for more info and weblink) and make yourself a good strong shopping bag out of your own material or something from Stitch's big bag of remnants.
