The GEC Finance Committee agreed an increase to Union Contributions as from 1st October 2004, the increases are as follows :-
For your information the contributions include the SCUNTHORPE BRANCH LEVY for the BENEVOLENT & RETIRED MEMBERS FUND.
Grade 1 Members:- £2.40 per week £10.40 per month
Grade 2 Members:- £1.28 per week £5.55per month
Part time members employed for 20 hours or less, members under the age of 18, & NEW members who are unemployed or sick for the first 52 weeks pay the part-time rate & Existing members who have become unemployed or sick, who do not have a legal claim pay,
£0.05 per week £0.22 per month
Young members participating in Government funded Training Schemes,
£0.10 per week £0.43 per month
New members employed for 10 hours or less (no cash benefits with this rate)
£0.65 per week £2.38
To Qualify to pay any of the reduced rate of contributions, New Unemployed and sick members must have paid Full Contributions for at least 52 weeks and be fully financial.
IN ALL CASES EVIDENCE OF UNEMPLOYMENT, SICKNESS ETC. WILL BE REOUIRED, WHICH THE SECRETARY SUBMITS TO THE REGION FOR PERMISSION TO PAY THE REDUCED RATE. ( CERTIFICATES ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE SECTRETARY IF UNABLE TO OBTAIN THEM FROM THE APPROPIATE DEPARTMENT).
