City Safe.

There are currently 130 members: 110 in Gloucester and 20 in Stroud. City Safe works with local licensees and traders to use 'Yellow Cards' to deal with anti social behaviuor in the City Centre. If anyone is given 2 yellow cards they are automatically 'Red Carded' and banned from entering any member premises for 12 months.

In the last year, 867 yellow cards have been issued and 108 people excluded. At the present time, there are 87 people excluded.

(Extracts above from May 2016 Safer Gloucester News).

Forum Members have asked why were the 87 excluded? Were any vulnerable?  Did they have mental health problems? Did they have substance misuse problems? were they homeless, rough sleepers, sofa surfers? Are any repeat offenders? Have any been supported? What support is in place? Do we ask if City Safe could share data on those excluded? can we help and work with City Safe? Is Turning Point a City Safe member when a priority of City Safe is Substance Misuse (See below).

Safer Gloucesters Strategy.

The plan outlines five priorities:

Anti Social Behaviour – our aim is to enhance the quality of life for our communities and as a multi agency partnership tackle persistent anti social behaviour.

Substance Misuse – our aim is to reduce the harm caused by the misuse of drugs and alcohol, including

Reducing Crime – Safer Gloucester is working hard to reduce property crimes, such as domestic burglary and theft of motor vehicles. After several years of reduction, it is vital not to become complacent.

Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence - our aim is to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence by assessing and managing risk in each case and bringing offenders to justice.

Hate Crime - we seek to ensure that people and communities will be treated with fairness and equality where discrimination will be eliminated and diversity valued.
