Annual general Meeting Thursday 20th November 2008

The meeting took place at the Sutton United Football Club Club House off Hollyfiels Road (in the park).

The minutes of the meeting are shown in "our files", including the new officers and attendance.

There were a number of people and the years programme was decided.

New benches in the park

The Friends of Rectory Park are continuing in their efforts to enable the community to appreciate the natural beauty of Rectory Park and to encourage further community use.  The Friends have obtained Community Chest Funding from Sutton Trinity Ward for much needed benches in the Park and the first of the benches are now in situ.  The benches were manufactured and installed by Waterloo Woodwork training centre, a social enterprise for adults with learning difficulties who manufacture sturdy wooden products for outdoor use using traditional woodworking methods. Tree Planting 5th March 2008

Wednesday 5th March - Tree Planting

The Friends of Rectory Park have spent £2,000 to have semi mature trees planted in Rectory Park, replacing those that have either fallen or were felled on the grounds of safety over the last 5 years. 

We are also planting a number of whips, which are 1.5 to 2 Meters tall of Cherry, Hazel, Oak, Ash, Birch and Rowan and will be assisted by the children from Whitehouse Common and Hollyfield Primary Schools. 

If you would like to join us, we are meeting in the Children's Play Area at 10/10.30 AM, which is assessable from the Rectory Road entrance.
